Mark P. Trolice, M.D., FACOG, FACS, FACEDirector and Reproductive Endocrinologist Mark P. Trolice, M.D., FACOG, FACS, FACE is the Director of Fertility C.A.R.E. (Center of Assisted Reproduction & Endocrinology) as well as Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology (OB/GYN) at the University of Florida in Gainesville and the University of Central Florida in Orlando. He is past President of the Florida Society of Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility (REI) and Central Florida OB/GYN Society as well as past Division Director of (REI) at Winnie Palmer Hospital, part of Orlando Health, responsible for the medical education of OB/GYN resident physicians and third/fourth year medical students. Dr. Trolice is double Board-certified in REI and OB/GYN while maintaining annual recertification in these specialties and has been awarded the American Medical Association's "Physicians' Recognition Award" annually. In May 2005, Dr. Trolice was inducted into the prestigious American College of Endocrinology adding to his unique distinction of also being a fellow in the American College of OB/GYN and the American College of Surgeons. His fellow physicians select him for Best Doctors in America® annually since 2007, honoring him as one among the top 5% of doctors in the U.S., and have named him "RE of the month" by the national organization www.FertilityAuthority.com Dr. Trolice has authored research studies with publications in many leading medical journals and a textbook. He has lectured at numerous physician conferences and patient seminars around the country. In addition to participating regularly on numerous TV news/talk shows, radio, webcasts and newspapers for 'expert' interviews on reproductive health topics, Dr. Trolice is on the Editorial Boards of The Female Patient and OBG Management, the Advisory Board of Conceive Magazine and the Medical Advisory Council of The American Fertility Association. Having written the Foreword to "I am More Than My Fertility," he is currently writing "A Family Dream – Finding Your Place in Fertility." In 2004, he founded Fertile Dreams, Inc. a non-for-profit organization dedicated to increasing fertility awareness and granting scholarships for those unable to afford fertility treatment by sponsoring an annual Paths 2 Parenthood Patient Conference and Embracing Hope Gala in Orlando, FL. As part of this commitment toward family building, he and his wife, Andrea, fulfilled a long awaited dream by opening their Angels Among Us adoption agency in 2009. Dr. Trolice sings jazz, runs in charity races, reads and "adores my wife and five children as well as our two lovable Cavalier King Charles Spaniels." |
Michael A. Witt, M.D.Reproductive Urologist Michael A. Witt, M.D., joined Fertility C.A.R.E. in 2006 and specializes in the treatment of male infertility. Dr. Witt is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, a Diplomat of the American Urology Association, and a member of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine and the American Society of Andrology. Dr. Witt is board certified in urology by the American Board of Urology. Dr. Witt's major areas of research interest include advanced techniques in sperm retrieval, vasal reconstruction, applications of ultrasound in the infertile male, and fertility in spinal cord injury. He has published more than 20 articles in medical journals and written numerous medical text chapters on the treatment of male infertility. Dr. Witt has participated in many patient education seminars and has been featured on the Learning Channel and CNN in stories relating to infertility. Dr Witt has been honored as one of the “Top Doctors in America”. Dr. Witt and his wife have four children, which never leaves a dull moment. Both he and his wife manage to find time for their hobbies. Dr. Witt is an avid runner and has completed more than twenty five marathons and two Ironman triathlons. |
Judith Burnett, Ph.D.Clinical Reproductive Psychologist Dr. Judith Burnett offers counseling at Fertility C.A.R.E. for couples and individuals. She is a licensed psychologist specializing in reproductive health issues and is a graduate of Brown University (A.B. with honors in psychology) and the University of Massachusetts at Amherst (MS, PhD in clinical psychology). She completed her pre-doctoral internship at Vanderbilt University Consortium in Nashville, Tenn., and received post-internship training at Georgetown University, Washington, D.C., and postdoctoral training at Vanderbilt University. Dr. Burnett's psychological practice emphasizes utilizing clients' strengths by honoring the uniqueness of their experiences in order to help them help themselves. She focuses on integrating the relationship between emotional and physical health as well as spiritual well being. Dr. Burnett is married with one child. Her interests include travel, hiking, snow skiing, and reading. She originally is from Philadelphia, Pa. |
Hailing Fu, O.M.D.Acupuncture Physician Dr. Fu, who has more than 20 years of experience in her field, has found great success using acupuncture during IVF cycles. Dr. Fu was a medical doctor in China. She completed the doctorate program in Oriental Medicine at Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine in Mainland China, as well as training in western medicine. Her offices are located in the Fertility C.A.R.E. building. "I enjoy the ability to give each of my patients the time they need to explain their symptoms to me and to be able to get to know the whole person. This allows me to care for the complete needs of my patients." |
Sunny Hu, Ph.D, HCLD, ELDScientific/Laboratory Director Dr. Hu is Fertility C.A.R.E.’s laboratory/scientific director. She has been certified by the American Board of Bioanalysis since 1997, and is a member of professional organizations including the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, College of American Pathologists (CAP inspector), Association of American Bioanalysis, American Association of Tissue Banks and the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology. Prior to joining us at Fertility C.A.R.E., Dr. Hu worked as a laboratory/scientific director in south Florida since 1992. Her responsibilities have included overseeing the day-to-day operation of embryology, andrology, and endocrinology laboratories, and managing/supervising the laboratory staff to ensure standard operating procedures and the quality control/quality assurance standards are met. She is also certified in performing advanced procedures in embryology including ICSI,PGD biopsy, and egg/embryo vitrification. Her impressive achievements include being the first, nationwide, to apply non-selective assisted hatching technique on in vitro cultured embryos prior to clinical transfer. She is also the first, nationwide, to use the embryo morphology score system to maximize pregnancy rates and limit higher multiple birth rates. In addition, Dr. Hu’s years of IVF and fertility clinical research has been published in numerous scientific journals.
